HEART

I have been a licensed amateur radio operator since 1974. I have volunteered for several agencies and organizations over the past 50 years and find that the volunteer organizations that have high standards and teamwork at the core of what they do, are the organizations that I found to be the most rewarding. I joined HEART to be part of a volunteer organization that espouses teamwork and professionalism. I believe in high standards to join an organization, continuous training and an operating environment that improves both my technical knowledge and operator skills. Time is precious and especially volunteer time where members balance everything else in their lives to facilitate time to volunteer for an organization. I view the time spent on preparation, training, and execution during an event at the healthcare facilities served by HEART as highly valuable. We likely will never know the lives we help touch, but I know this volunteer time contributes to opportunities to help the healthcare facilities do what they do best in emergencies.
